The present book The Human as Animal Symbolicum: The Origins of Symbolic Function is the English translation of second edition of the volume written by Ivan Ivi´c and published in 2015. After the first edition was published in 1978, the second edition was updated with new contemporary evidence from developmental sciences in order to support the theory of origins of symbolic function that was presented in the first edition.
